Current Projects

The Engineering Division coordinates the construction of capital improvement projects within the city each year.  Construction notices are mailed to property owners that have frontage along a particular construction project.  In addition, residents are encouraged to sign up for Construction Project Updates, which will provide regular construction updates for all projects and can be sent via text or e-mail.

The city realizes construction projects are an inconvenience. Every effort is made to expedite work and minimize traffic conflicts and access to the various properties abutting construction projects.

The project map linked below shows the planned capital improvement projects for this year. Residents that live adjacent to where construction takes place will receive construction notice letters in the Spring which contain all the project information and answer many frequently asked questions.

Local Road Reconstruction Projects

  • Nakota Road - Fernlee west to dead end
  • Greenway Avenue - Starr north to pavement change
  • Maplewood Avenue - 12 Mile to Sycamore

Local Road Resurfacing Projects

  • Kayser Avenue - 11 Mile to Lincoln

Downtown Projects

  • E Third Street - Main to Knowles (road resurfacing)
  • E Fifth Street - Williams to Troy (road resurfacing)
  • S Center Street - Fourth to Fifth (road resurfacing, both sides of railroad)
  • W Fifth Street - S Lafayette to Center (water main + pedestrian plaza)

Major Road Projects

  • Rochester Road - 13 Mile to 14 Mile (resurfacing and lane reduction)
  • Catalpa Drive - Woodward to Main (water main + resurfacing)
  • Gardenia Avenue - Campbell to Stephenson (resurfacing)
