  1. Royal Oak Rain Garden Demonstration Event: Fourth St. Kick-off Tour

    August 24, 2018, 6:00 PM - 7:15 PM @ Where: Fourth St. at Vermont Ave.

    Please join us to learn about the new city rain gardens being created on Fourth St. This will allow residents to witness the early steps in creating a rain garden, discussions of next steps, and the plant varieties choices. The second half of the tour will feature the existing rain gardens on Fourth St. & Kayser and a few lessons learned and maintenance tips. Presenters: Clinton River Watershed Council and Royal Oak Engineer *Interested attendees will receive a copy of the Royal Oak residential rain garden installation manual.

    Mushroom Walk” is scheduled for Saturday, August 25th, 2018 at Tenhave Woods beginning at 10:00 am. Park at the Marais/Lexington lot & meet at the park entrance. Mary Fredricks, a member and botanist/mycologist of the Royal Oak Nature Society, will lead the walk. Anyone with an interest in learning more about mushrooms and other fungi of the urban woods is welcome. There is no pre-registration or cost for public speaker programs & nature walks.
