Construction Project Updates


Residents on affected streets were mailed construction notices in the Spring with detailed information on the project.

The city realizes construction will be an inconvenience and all efforts to expedite the work will be utilized to minimize traffic conflicts and access to various properties abutting the project. If you have questions you can contact the Engineering Division at 248.246.3260.

CAP1935 Road Reconstruction Improvements

Contractor: FDM Contracting Inc.


The week of September 23rd, the contractor will continue concrete work on the west side of Benjamin Ave.

On Massoit Rd, the contractor plans to replace sidewalk ramps.

On W. Houstonia Ave, most of the concrete work is complete. The contractor plans to mill the roadway later in the week in preparation for new pavement.

Landscape restoration work will continue on the project streets.

CAP1905 Concrete Pavement Repairs

Contractor: Galui Construction Inc.


Work on this project is 95% complete with a few patch locations remaining north and south of 14 Mile Rd.

CAP1915 Asphalt Resurfacing

Contractor: AJAX Paving Industries Inc


The contractor plans to finish all restoration work by September 20th.

CAP1910 Water Main Improvements

Contractor: FDM Contracting Inc.


The week of September 23rd, the contractor will begin transferring water services to the new water main on S Blair St. Property owners will be notified in advance if their water will be temporarily shut off for the transfer.

Pavement removals have begun on E Harrison Avenue with new water main installation to follow.

The contractor will be continuing restoration work on Albert, Judson and Rockingham.

Property owners will be notified via door hanger the day beforehand if they will be affected by any water shut-offs.

CAP1907 Normandy Road Improvements

Greenfield Road to Woodward Avenue
Contractor: AJAX Paving Industries


The contractor has finished concrete and roadway preparation on the north side of Normandy Rd, and has now begun work on the south side, removing the existing pavement and installing new edge drain which will continue through the week of September 23rd.
Please note that construction schedules are tentative, and may change based on weather delays, subcontractors or substantial field modifications. These updates are based on the information currently available.
