Construction Project Updates

Residents on affected streets will be mailed construction notices in the Spring, prior to work beginning, with detailed information on the project.

The city realizes construction will be an inconvenience and all efforts to expedite the work will be utilized to minimize traffic conflicts and access to various properties abutting the project. If you have questions you can contact the Engineering Division at 248.246.3260.

CAP1908/09 14 Mile Road Resurfacing Improvements

Greenfield Road to Crooks Road

SOCWA Contractor: Verdeterre Contracting, Inc.

City Contractor: Pamar Enterprises, Inc

This project includes work in conjunction with the South Oakland County Water Authority, Michigan Department of Transportation and the Road Commission for Oakland County.

14 Mile Road will be under construction for most of the 2019 construction season, with traffic often limited to one lane in each direction. Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes during construction, especially during rush hour. For more information regarding the complete scope of the project, visit: www.romi.gov/14Mile

The week of April 29th, the city's contractor will continue working installing water main along the south side of 14 Mile Road, primarily near Mankato Avenue & Coolidge Highway and Woodward Avenue & Cooper Avenue.

SOCWA's contractor will be testing their newly installed water main and begin working on grading and pavement restoration.

CAP1935 Road Reconstruction Improvements

Contractor: FDM Contracting Inc.

The city's contractor will continue doing utility work on W. Houstonia Avenue the week of April 29th, and begin pavement removals on Fernlee Avenue.

CAP1905 Concrete Pavement Repairs

Contractor: Galui Construction Inc.

The contractor tentatively plans to continue saw-cutting the week of April 29th on the project streets.

CAP1915 Asphalt Resurfacing

Contractor: AJAX Paving Industries Inc

The contractor plans to complete tree removals the week of April 29th and tentatively plans to begin saw-cutting the Phase 1 project streets, likely mid week.

CAP1910 Water Main Improvements

Contractor: FDM Contracting Inc.

Water main work is complete on Judson Avenue and the contractor will begin testing the new water main the week of April 29th. Water main installation will continue on Rockingham Road and Albert Avenue.

CAP1806 S. Campbell Road Resurfacing

10 Mile Road to 11 Mile Road

Contractor: Iafrate Construction Company

The week of April 29th, the contractor will continue on the remaining work on S. Campbell Road which includes:

installing two pedestrian refuge islands near 6th Street and Brockton/Dallas
install the new traffic signals at 4th Street
place the permanent road striping on the roadway
Complete lawn restoration and punch list items

No lane closures are expected as the contractor will be working within the center turn lane on the pedestrian refuge islands.
