Construction Project Updates

The city realizes construction will be an inconvenience and all efforts to expedite the work will be utilized to minimize traffic conflicts and access to various properties abutting the project. If you have questions you can contact the Engineering Division at 248.246.3260.

CAP1806 S. Campbell Road Resurfacing

10 Mile Road to 11 Mile Road

Contractor: Iafrate Construction Company

This project has been awarded to Angelo Iafrate Construction Company by the Michigan Department of Transportation. The contractor will begin delivering traffic control items during the week of June 11th and lane restrictions are scheduled to begin later in the week. CAP1808 N. Main Street Resurfacing

11 Mile Road to Gardenia Avenue

Contractor: Pro-Line Asphalt Paving Corp.

Traffic is shifted to the east side of N. Main Street, with one lane open in each direction. Left turns are prohibited at Catalpa/Gardenia and at 11 Mile Road for vehicles traveling north and south.

The contractor plans to pave the bottom layer of asphalt during the week of June 11th then plans to switch traffic to the west side of the road, likely the following week.
(The top layer of asphalt will be added later in the project.)

CAP1815 Asphalt Resurfacing Improvements

Contractor: AJAX Paving Industries, Inc.

The project is divided into three phases:

Phase 1 streets are now paved. The contractor plans to clean up and restore disturbed grass areas beginning the week of June 11th.

Phase 2 streets: Asphalt paving is scheduled for the week of June 11th, likely mid-week. Residents will be able to access their driveways, but there will be delays for access during paving operations.

Phase 3 streets: The contractor has started removing and replacing curbing on S. Connecticut and Irving and plans to start work on Cherokee and E. Hudson during the week of June 11th.

CAP1835 Road Reconstruction Improvements

Contractor: Hard Rock Concrete, Inc.

Woodland Avenue - Webster Road to Glenwood Road

The road is now paved, and all driveways have been placed by the end of the day June 7th. The city opted to keep the road closed during placement of the driveways for equipment access. The contractor will have the road cleaned and open to residents by the end of the day Friday June 8th. Driveway approaches will remain closed for a week while the concrete cures, but residents may park on the roadway where public parking is permitted.

The remaining concrete at the intersection of Glenwood Road and handicap sidewalk ramps will be poured within the next couple weeks.

Bonnie View Drive - Lloyd Avenue to Northwood Boulevard

Work on this street is complete.

Yorba Linda Boulevard - Fairlawn Avenue to Springer Avenue

The contractor is preparing the outer half of Yorba Linda first (south side, cul-de-sac and west side) for paving. Paving this half of the roadway is tentatively scheduled for Monday or Tuesday, the week of June 11th.

One lane of roadway will remain open on the inner half of Yorba Linda throughout construction of the outer half, but there will be construction equipment and trucks blocking the route throughout the work day.

Parkway Drive - Normandy Road to Woodward Avenue

The contractor will place concrete at Arlington Drive and in the remaining areas on the north side of Parkway between Arlington and Normandy during the week of June 11th. Arlington will remain closed at Parkway for a week after the concrete is poured. Parkway Drive will be open to traffic, with one lane open at Arlington.

Linwood Avenue - Webster Road to Glenwood Road

No work to begin until school is out for the summer.

Delaware Avenue - E. Kenilworth Avenue to E. Harrison Avenue

No work yet; the contractor tentatively plans to begin the work in late June.

CAP1505 Concrete Street Repairs

Contractor: Galui Construction Company, Inc.

The contractor has started saw-cutting the project streets. Pavement removals and concrete pavement will not begin until mid-June.

CAP1822 Non-Motorized Improvements

Contractor: Warren Contractors & Development, Inc.

The city will be installing signage and striping for a north-south bike route through the city. The bike route begins at Washington Avenue and 10 Mile Road, extends north to Euclid Avenue, then east to N. Main Street, and finally north the city limits. Where there are currently four lanes of traffic, the street will be reduced to a 3-lane roadway, with one lane of traffic in each direction, a center turn lane, and bicycle lanes on each side of the road. This project is tentatively scheduled to start on Monday June 18th.
