This project is in the process of being awarded to Angelo Iafrate Construction Company by the Michigan Department of Transportation.  Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin towards the end of May.

CAP1808 N. Main Street Resurfacing

11 Mile Road to Gardenia Avenue

Contractor: Pro-Line Asphalt Paving Corp.

The contractor has placed barrels and temporary signage along the construction route.
The contractor will shift traffic to the east side of the road, with one lane open in each direction on Friday May 11.  The contractor will be performing pavement and partial curbing removals on the west half of the roadway throughout the week.  Access to all businesses will be maintained throughout the project.

CAP1815 Asphalt Resurfacing Improvements

Contractor: AJAX Paving Industries, Inc.

The project is divided into three phases:

CAP1815 Phasing

The contractor plans to finish milling off the existing asphalt from Phase 1 streets on Friday May 11.  During the week of May 14th, the contractor will repair defective concrete base sections of the roadways and also adjust drainage structures within Phase 1.
The contractor has started curb removals and replacements on Phase 2 streets and will continue throughout the week of May 14th.

CAP1835 Road Reconstruction Improvements

Contractor: Hard Rock Concrete, Inc.

Some residents have asked about the informational meeting that was originally scheduled for April 17, but had to be cancelled due to a power outage.  Rather than try to reschedule a meeting, the city opted to record a presentation going over the project details for CAP1835.  If you haven’t seen it you, you can view the presentation here.  At the end of the presentation there is a survey link where you can leave any follow-up comments or ask questions.

Woodland Avenue - Webster Road to Glenwood Road

The contractor will make the final connection of the new water main pipe to the city’s water system on Friday May 11th.  The connection was originally scheduled for Thursday, but the crew ran out of time due to an extended connection time at the south end of the street.

The contractor plans to close the road to all vehicles tentatively starting on Tuesday or Wednesday next week.  Residents will be notified via door hanger.  The contractor will remove the remaining pavement on the west side and prepare the road for paving throughout the week.

Bonnie View Drive - Lloyd Avenue to Northwood Boulevard

Work on this street is complete with the exception of restoration.

Yorba Linda Boulevard - Fairlawn Avenue to Springer Avenue

The contractor plans to begin excavation for water main work during the week of May 14th, likely mid-week.  Construction equipment and materials are schedule to be delivered on Friday May 11th.

Parkway Drive - Normandy Road to Woodward Avenue

The contractor has finished paving the roadway and part of the sidewalk along the south side of the road.  The road will remain closed to traffic until the middle of next week while the concrete gains strength.  The contractor plans to install the remainder of the sidewalk during the week of May 14th.

Linwood Avenue - Webster Road to Glenwood Road

No work to begin until school is out for the summer.

Delaware Avenue - E. Kenilworth Avenue to E. Harrison Avenue

No work yet; the contractor tentatively plans to begin the work in late June.

CAP1505 Concrete Street Repairs

Contractor: Galui Construction Company, Inc.

The contractor will be saw-cutting the project streets starting in May.  Pavement removals and concrete pavement will not begin until late May or early June.

CAP1822 Non-Motorized Improvements

The city will be installing signage and striping for a north-south bike route through the city.  The bike route begins at Washington Avenue and 10 Mile Road, extends north to Euclid Avenue, then east to N. Main Street, and finally north the city limits.  Where there are currently four lanes of traffic, the street will be reduced to a 3-lane roadway, with one lane of traffic in each direction, a center turn lane, and bicycle lanes on each side of the road.  This project is expected to begin in June.

Please note that construction schedules are tentative, and may change based on weather delays, subcontractors or substantial field modifications. These updates are based on the information currently available.
