CAP1735 Road Reconstruction Improvements

Batavia Avenue
The contractor will continue water main connections and water service transfers to the new water main during the week of July 24th. Properties that will be without water during connections will be notified via door hanger the day beforehand. Shutdowns are typically 4 to 8 hours long.
After the water main work is completed, the contractor will perform storm sewer and sanitary sewer replacements in a few areas of the roadway.
The Department of Public Service will also be transferring water services on E. Hudson, west of Batavia Avenue.
Dallas Avenue
The contractor plans to begin driveway and sidewalk removals on Dallas Avenue the week of July 24th to allow for water main installation. The removals are primarily on the north side of Dallas Avenue, from Helene Avenue to Stephenson Avenue. Water main piping is scheduled to be delivered during the week and will be stored in the greenbelt of the roadway. Water main installation is tentatively scheduled to begin at the end of the week or early the following week.
Fairview Avenue
Consumers Energy has finished replacing the gas main on Fairview Avenue and the contractor is planning to place the road base material during the week of July 24th. The road is tentatively scheduled to be paved by the end of the week or early the following week. The road will remain closed for one week after concrete is placed to allow for curing.
Kalama Avenue and Brinkey Avenue
The contractor plans to place the road base material early during the week of July 24th and plans to pave the two roads by the end of the week. The pavement will remain closed for one week after concrete is placed to allow for curing.
Lockwood Avenue
Work is expected to begin in the next couple weeks on Lockwood Avenue. The contractor will first saw-cut and remove a portion of the pavement and driveways to allow for water main installation, primarily on the west side of the roadway. Water main piping is tentatively scheduled to be delivered in the next couple weeks.
