CAP1715 Asphalt Resurfacing Improvements

Contractor: AJAX Paving Industries, Inc.

Phase 3 streets and N. Washington Avenue are scheduled to be paved Saturday June 24th and Monday June 26th.

The concrete work on Phase 4 streets will continue during the week of June 26th. The contractor tentatively plans to complete the paving work on these streets by mid-July.

The contractor plans to begin placing topsoil and seed on Phase 1, 2 and 3 streets starting the week of June 26th. The contractor will water the restored areas throughout the summer until grass is established. Residents are encouraged to water the seeded areas as well.

The contractor is not planning to work over the July 4^th holiday weekend (July 1 – July 4).

CAP1735 Road Reconstruction Improvements

Contractor: Mark Anthony Contracting, Inc.

Batavia Avenue

The contractor plans to chlorinate and test the new water main piping during the week of June 26th. There will be limited work on the street during the week.

Dallas Avenue

The contractor plans to begin work on Dallas Avenue after the July 4th holiday.

Fairview Avenue

The contractor plans to complete underground utility installations and prepare the road for paving. The straight section of Fairview Avenue is tentatively scheduled for paving on Tuesday June 27th. This section of the road will be reopened to traffic approximately one week after paving.

Consumers Energy has located a shallow gas main that requires replacement in the cul-de-sac portion of Fairview Avenue. This effort will delay paving of the cul-de-sac area by one to two weeks.

Kalama Avenue and Brinkey Avenue

The contractor plans to begin pavement removals on Kalama Avenue between Brinkey Avenue and Stephenson Highway the week of June 26th. The contractor plans to replace sections of storm sewer within Kalama Avenue before pavement removal on Brinkey Avenue begins. Residents will receive door-hanger notices 24 hours in advance when driveways will be unavailable.

CAP1630 Special Assessment Paving Improvements

Contractor: Mark Anthony Contracting, Inc.

Public Alley - East of Rochester Road, from Whitcomb Ave. to Millard Ave.

The alley is open to thru traffic. The contractor plans to finish asphalt paving repairs on the west side of the alley on Monday June 26th.

S. Edison Avenue

Due to rain delays, the contractor now plans to pour concrete on Monday June 26th. Driveway and sidewalk replacements are tentatively scheduled for the following week.

Wrenford Road, Massoit Road, Bassett Road, Girard Road

Topsoil has been placed on Wrenford Road, Massoit Road and Basset Road. The contractor plans to begin sod placement the week of June 26th. Topsoil for Girard Road is also scheduled for the same week.

W. Park Avenue

Due to rain delays, the contractor now plans to pour concrete on Tuesday June 27th. Driveway and sidewalk replacements are tentatively scheduled for the following week.

Public Alley - 14 Mile Road to Rochester Road (behind businesses)

The contractor plans to begin work in the alley after the July 4th holiday.

CAP1535 Road Reconstruction Improvements

Contractor: Hard Rock Concrete, Inc.

Sherman Drive Construction

The contractor plans to finish the remaining sidewalk installation work during the week of June 26th. Sherman Drive is tentatively planned to be open to the public by the holiday weekend.

The short block of N. West Street between 11 Mile Road and Sherman Drive is now a one-way street for northbound traffic as shown below.The remainder of N. West Street, north of Sherman Drive, will remain open to two-way traffic.

Linwood Avenue Construction

The contractor plans to pour the west half of Linwood Avenue during the week of June 26th. The contractor will install the east half of the road the following week. Once all roadway concrete has been placed, the road will remain closed to all traffic for one week while the concrete cures.

Residents have been authorized to park in the Shrine Grade School parking lot as needed during construction.

CAP1710 Water Main Improvements

Contractor: F.D.M. Contracting, Inc.

Bellaire Avenue

The contractor plans to finish placing the other halves of driveway approaches and sidewalk during the week of June 26th.

Rochester Road

The contractor will continue with concrete roadway repairs at intersections and plans to finish all concrete work the week of June 26th. Asphalt repairs will be performed towards the end of the project.

Public Alley - W Sixth Street to W Seventh Street, east of Washington Ave.

The alley and W. Sixth Street pavement has been installed. W. Sixth Street is open to traffic and the alley will remain closed for approximately one more week. W. Seventh Street is closed to traffic to allow the new concrete to cure.

Street parking will continue to be unavailable on W. Seventh Street between S. Washington Avenue and S. Center Street.

CAP1505 Concrete Street Repairs

Contractor: Galui Construction Co., Inc.

The contractor will continue working on the streets north of 12 Mile Road during the week of June 26th, working on the first half of each street.

2017 Sidewalk Improvement Program

Contractor: Italia Construction, Inc.

The contractor will continue working on residential streets east of Rochester Road and north of 13 Mile during the week of June 26th. Afterward, the contractor will begin sidewalk work on major roads and will start new sidewalk installation (where none previously existed).
