Special Tribute

Special Tribute for the Market

We’re thrilled to share that the Royal Oak Farmers Market just received a Special Tribute from Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist II in honor of its 100th anniversary!

The proclamation celebrates how our Farmers Market began in 1925 as a small community gathering for local produce and has grown into one of Michigan’s premier markets—open year-round, supporting local farmers, artisans, and small businesses. It highlights our expansion to 110 farmer spaces, the beloved Sunday Flea Market since 1978, and the Market’s role as a community hub for fresh food, entertainment, and special events.

In short: it’s a big, official “thank you” from the State of Michigan for a century of feeding, connecting, and inspiring our community.
