Rochester Road Paving

Rochester Road Closed

Sun. Nov. 5 for Paving

Rochester Road paving is scheduled for THIS SUNDAY, NOV. 5.  Rochester Road will be closed to all traffic between 12 Mile and 13 Mile from approximately 7am-7pm on Sunday.  The intersections of 12 Mile/Rochester and 13 Mile/Rochester will remain open to east/west traffic.

Signs have been placed at each side street to let nearby residents know about the road closure. Residents who have driveway access off Rochester Road may have limited access to their driveway during paving operations and may want to park on side streets.

Leaf Collection

Fall Curbside Leaf Collection

Here are a few things you need to know:

  • Over the several weeks, we’ll be doing two full circuits, meaning we’ll be visiting each street twice.
  • The last date for the curbside leaf collection is Friday, December 8.
  • If you see us on your street on a day that is not on the schedule, don’t worry we’ll be back on the pre-scheduled day, unless notified. This means we are ahead of schedule or are doing an extra pass through!
  • SOCRRA accepts leaf drop-off through December 18. For more information, visit: socrra.org.
  • If you see your neighbors, help us spread the word and give them a friendly reminder to get their leaves ready and to remove their vehicles from the street!

Find out when we’ll be coming to your neighborhood.

If you have any questions, please call us at 248.246.3300.

Listen

Listen Up, Royal Oak!

The new City Commission chamber offers an assistive listening solution that delivers clarity to those struggling to hear in a big room that can at times be crowded. The device (shown in the photo) is easy to use.

If you are interested in trying one, please call the Human Resources Department at 248-246-3070 in advance of any meeting you are planning to attend. We’ll be happy to have a listening device ready and waiting for you!

Lockbox Picture

Residential Lock Boxes Available at the Fire Department

The Royal Oak Fire Department’s residential lockbox program is designed to get quick access to adults living in their own homes during medical emergencies -- especially senior citizens.  When every second counts, the lockbox -- which contains a key to your home -- reduces the likelihood of property damage caused by first responders forcing entry into your home in response to an emergency call.
