Halloween Fest
Ruck 22

Ruck 22 March | Nov. 5 | 10 AM

The Ruck 22 March is held  each year on the Saturday before Veterans Day at 10:00 am at the Royal Oak War Memorial located in Barbara A. Hallman Memorial Plaza in Centennial Commons  to raise awareness of the issue of Veteran Suicide.

For this event we ask participants to march/walk a 2.2-mile course while carrying 22 pounds or 22 food or personal items.

Entry fee is $22 for adults; FREE for active and retired military and children.*

Why 22?

Every day 22 veterans commit suicide in the United States. We carry '22' to show our support for veterans  in crisis or need and their families.

All personal items and food collected will be donated to the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 154 to be used to support veterans and their families.  All monies will be donated to  local organizations that support vets in need.

Lockbox Picture

Residential Lock Boxes Available at the Fire Department

The Royal Oak Fire Department’s residential lockbox program is designed to get quick access to adults living in their own homes during medical emergencies -- especially senior citizens.  When every second counts, the lockbox -- which contains a key to your home -- reduces the likelihood of property damage caused by first responders forcing entry into your home in response to an emergency call.
