Listen up to these top tips from the Royal Oak Fire Department, they'll be keeping us safe all weekend at the festival!

• Wear comfy shoes! Don't let blisters slow you down.
• Hydrate before you get there - remember that alcohol won't do the trick.
• Sunny skies ahead - slather on that sunscreen.
• Monday's heating up - know the signs of heatstroke, throbbing headache, confusion, nausea, dizziness, rapid and strong pulse.
• Don't lose your car! Excitement's great, but they can't help you find your ride.

Avoid a Ticket

During Arts. Beats & Eats, parking in neighborhoods around the festival site (within half to one mile) is permit-only for residents. 

Police will be imposing $50 fines to discourage non-resident parking. If you're a local resident facing issues, reach out to Royal Oak Police (248-246-3500).

2023 Citizens Police Academy Application

The Royal Oak Citizens Police Academy is an exciting seven-week course that meets once a week on Wednesday evenings at the police station at 6:30 p.m. Classes last for approximately three hours. The fall session begins on Oct. 25, 2023.

Open only to residents of Royal Oak, attendees get an insider's look at the internal operations and challenges of the police department.

You must be 18 years of age or older to attend the academy. All potential applicants are screened before they are accepted. You will be notified no later than Sept. 30, 2023, if you have been admitted.

Food Truck Rally at the Market

The food truck rally happens every month at the Royal Oak Farmers Market. Enjoy more than eight food trucks, face painting, balloon art, crafts table for the children, and local vendors selling their homemade items.

Residential Lock Boxes Available at the Fire Department

The Royal Oak Fire Department’s residential lockbox program is designed to get quick access to adults living in their own homes during medical emergencies -- especially senior citizens.  When every second counts, the lockbox -- which contains a key to your home -- reduces the likelihood of property damage caused by first responders forcing entry into your home in response to an emergency call.
