2023 project map

2023 Construction Project Map available now!

Use the map above to see if a project is affecting your street. The city realizes construction will be an inconvenience and all efforts to expedite the work will be utilized to minimize traffic conflicts and access to various properties abutting the project.

Notices of Construction have been mailed to affected residents and copies are available online here.

CAP2306 Rochester Road

This week the contractor is continuing work on the east side of the roadway. The contractor is placing new concrete for sidewalk, driveways and roadway at intersections. The contractor will also be adjusting drainage structures for the final roadway height.

Turn Restrictions and Closures:

Left turns will not be allowed for northbound and southbound traffic at 12 Mile Road, Girard Avenue and at 13 Mile Road during construction to avoid backups. Northbound Rochester Road will be completely closed between Gardenia Avenue and Dewey Street. Local access to the Oakview Cemetery and Rite Aid will remain open.

More information about the lane conversion can be found at: www.romi.gov/RochesterRoad

CAP2308 Major Road Improvements

Vinsetta Boulevard:

The contractor has placed the first layer of asphalt on the roadway. This week they will be adjusting drainage structures for the final roadway height and replacing some additional curbing. Final layer of asphalt is tentatively scheduled to be paved next week.

Normandy Road:

The contractor is working on water main installation this week, between Crooks and Linwood.

Normandy Road will be closed to thru traffic throughout construction. Residents with driveways on Normandy will still be able to enter the construction zone via the side streets to access their property. Businesses should direct their patrons, employees and deliveries to use Coolidge to access Normandy Road to minimize conflicts with construction work.

Lincoln Avenue:

The contractor has milled the existing asphalt off the roadway. This week they will be checking to verify if any pavement base repairs or additional concrete work is needed. Asphalt paving is tentatively scheduled for next week.

CAP2305 Concrete Repair Program

The contractor has mostly finished concrete work in Phase 1 and Phase 2 neighborhoods. They will return to working in the Phase 3 neighborhood this week, doing some removal and replacements before the holiday weekend.

Work will only be performed on one side of the street at a time, to maintain access for residents throughout construction. Only the worst sections of concrete pavement will be removed and replaced, not the entire roadway. If driveway access will be affected, residents will be notified the day beforehand via doorhanger.

The map below shows the project streets highlighted in LIGHT BLUE.
