Remember and Honor

Royal Oak Field of Honor® on Display May 28 through June 4

The Royal Oak Veterans Event Committee will host a moving display of 189 US flags at Centennial Commons in Downtown Royal Oak from May 28 through June 4 to pay tribute to Royal Oak heroes who died in active military service.

Volunteers with information will be at the site each evening from 5- 7 pm. Please plan to stop by to learn more about the faces behind the names on the Royal Oak War Memorial.

Closing Ceremony | June 4 | 1:00 PM

Ringing of bell, reading of names, moments of silence will mark the Field of Honor Closing Ceremony.

On June 4 at  1:00 PM members of our community will read aloud the names of each person whose name appears on the Royal Oak War Memoria; and ring a ceremonial bell for each during a ceremony.

Visit the Royal Oak War Memorial Database to learn more about the 189 individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice.
