Blessings in a Backpack:   Provides weekend food to food insecure students in all of the Royal Oak Schools during the school year.

City of Royal Oak:

Common Ground:  It is dedicated to helping runaway and homeless youth, victims of crime, adults and others in critical situations.

Daughters of the American Revolution-Ezra Parker Chapter NSDAR: Promotes patriotism, education and historical reservation; membership is open to direct descendents of patriots from the American Revolution  

Greater Detroit Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society: Promotes universal harmony through a cappella song and service.

Friends of the Royal Oak Library: Promotes and publicize the services of the library; raise funds for materials and equipment; sponsor and assist with special programs; encourage gifts, memorials and endowments to the library.

Gilda’s Club Metro Detroit:  Ensures that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action and sustained by community.

Greater Royal Oak Chamber of Commerce: Our purpose is to bridge the gap between our local organizations and businesses to better connect with one another, as well as the community.

Greater Royal Oak Democratic Club:  Elects Democrats to office and to serve as a means for the community to meet with Democratic elected officials, candidates and other local Democrats.

Hour Exchange TimeBank:  Is a community exchange system which also builds community.

Metro Detroit Youth Clubs:  Empowers youth to reach their full potential through quality programs and opportunities which open doors to a bright future.

Mind Over Matter:  To erase the stigma surrounding mental illness and suicide; provide hope, and raise funding for life-saving programs.

National Alliance on Mental Illness, Metro Detroit (NAMI):  To raise awareness of mental illness through education, referrals, research, support & advocacy.

Rotary Club of Royal Oak:  Dedicated to the youth in the community by providing scholarships to high school seniors & is involved with “Blessings in a Backpack” program for students.

Royal Oak Animal Shelter: Provides a safe haven for lost animals or animals given up by their owners; reunites lost animals with their human companions, and provides the best possible adoptions of available animals into the home best suited to their personalities.

Royal Oak Arts Council:  We are a 501c3 created to support and grow the arts in Royal Oak and surrounding communities, grants, scholarships and promotional support.

Royal Oak Community Coalition: Preventing substance abuse by building a healthier community.

Royal Oak Garden Club:  To share knowledge and the love of gardening; to encourage the protection of native trees; to encourage civic planting and beautification

Royal Oak Historical Commission: Responsible for policy & communication between all historical groups, oversees the care and restoration of the Orson Starr House

Royal Oak Historical Society:    Displays historical exhibits & Royal Oak history at the Royal Oak Historical Museum. 

Royal Oak Jaycees (D/B/A Central Woodward Junior Chamber: A not-for-profit organization of young active citizens age 21 to 40 who are engaged and committed to creating impact in our communities.  We inspire young people to recognize their responsibilities to create a better world and empower them to drive change. We are today’s young active citizens and tomorrow’s community leaders.

Royal Oak Lions Club:  To empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions Clubs.

Royal Oak Musicale: Promotes good music in the community; give financial awards to graduating high school seniors planning a college major in music.

Royal Oak Nature Society:  Maintains & protects Royal Oak’s two nature parks plus is developing an arboretum behind the Senior Center.

Royal Oak PTA Council:  To bring together a closer relationship of the home and school so that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth;

Royal Oak Republican Club:  Presents Republican candidates for elective office; promote interest in public and political affairs; strengthen effectiveness of Republicans through education and involvement in the cause of good government; inform citizens to be knowledgeable voters.

Royal Oak Schools: Public education service for pre-K to 12th grade students, including adult education

Royal Oak Schools Foundation:   Provides funding for educational programs to Royal Oak’s public schools.

Royal Oak Senior Center: Provide classes, activities, services and resources appropriate for the senior population of Royal Oak and surrounding communities.  No membership required.

Royal Oak Symphony Orchestra: Provides a quality cultural experience for Royal Oak and surrounding communities.  Concert programs, presented by 60+ volunteer musicians, include classical masterworks as well as contemporary selections, ROSO provides opportunities for music education and appreciation to people of all ages.

Royal Oak Woman’s Club:   A social and service club dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service.

Royal Oak Youth Assistance: Strengthens youth and families by reducing the incidence of delinquency, abuse and neglect through community involvement.

Salvation Army of Royal Oak:  Mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.  It serves Southeast Oakland County.

Soroptimist International of Oakland County:  Improves the lives of women and girls.

South Oakland Citizens for the Homeless:  Operates the only day care center for the homeless in this area.

South Oakland YMCA:  Strengthens the foundations of the foundations of communities in southeast Michigan through programs and services focusing on- Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility.

State Representative Jim Ellison: Represents the 26th District, including Royal Oak and Madison Heights, in the Michigan House of Representatives

Teen Clean Closet:  Helps young people in our area by providing them with products needed for everyday cleanliness.

Water Works Theatre Company: Presents professional outdoor Shakespeare in the Park, youth education programs and related activities.
